Rune in Portuguese 3/8/2008

In early 2008, there was an ongoing project to translate RUNE and its RuneEd for Portuguese players. Rune was all ready translated into German, French and Italian versions before initial release but there were no Spanish or Portuguese versions. Most players across the world play the game in the translations mentioned or, more often, in its English version. The project was being done by an avid Rune player, +Walleck+, a GameVicio Brazil translator, who felt Rune's popularity and "cult status" deserved this treatment for this growing video gaming community.



Official Patches 1.06 and 1.07 are required to install properly and prevent any technical problems if your RUNE 1.00 is English version. OR you can use the v1.07All.zip European patch.

Capture The Torch Made by Mhz Rocker improved by Lar

What's the difference between this version and MHz's original CTT you ask?? Well, for one thing,
a great number of bugs have been fixed and a few things have been added. Gameplay-wise, there is
no difference what-so-ever. Below is a list of things that are different from the original CTT:

-Players can join as any model/skin, even custom ones (as long as the server supports it).

-Compatible with TR-Bullet Proof (1.06/HOV) and Server Guard (1.00/1.01) cheat protection (except anti-chat spam).

-Checks for supported teams in the level (can not join unsupported team).

-Better team balancing.

Other Improvements

-More checks for missing torches. Torches return home if they are missing for any reason.

-Removed "advanced" CycleStrafe feature (aka Z-Target).

-Slight improvement to ShowNames feature (client command shownames).

-Torch carrier groundspeed impediment fixed (was broken in Rune 1.06 and above).

-Player movement mode fixed after scoring a torch (1.00/1.01)

-Maplist support added.

-Fixed pickup animation when attempting to pickup team torch.

-Admin command: ResetTorches ( admin resettorches ).

-Admin command: EvenTeams ( admin eventeams; toggles team balance restrictions )

-Game variables now saved in main server INI file for compatibility with web admin. (was CaptheTorch.ini)

-Fixed numerous Accessed None errors.

-RuneServerAdmin mismatch fixed (credit: Zisu, a.k.a. Druid)

-TorchSpawn actors are displayed as a HelTorch in RuneEd. Allows for better locaton and rotation control.

-debug info added to CTT torches.

-Small tweak to the EndGame event.

-Slight increase in CTTorch damage

-Torch icons instead of flags for player HUD (credit: Harald, a.k.a. Mercenary)

The zip archive contans two maps: The "tried and true" CTT-WillhavenHelTest by Phil "-=¤willhaven¤=-" Cole,
and CTT-Anarchy by Alan "Bill Bones" Fleming.

Thirsty Vikings Final

Somewhere in the map is a small keg of mead. The player who gets it
first is the "mead-carrier", all others are after that keg. Players
cannot frag each other like in DM, they can only kill the mead-carrier,
but the mead carrier can kill all. Once you killed the guy with the
keg, you become the carrier. Also the guy who has the mead gains points
for the time he posses the keg (25sec=1frag). When you got the keg you
cannot use two-handed weapons but you have instant bloodlust until you
die

MKP Arena v2.61

Is an "Adventure/RPG like" mod with many monsters/BossMonsters, characters,Magic/CastSpells made ONLY for this MOD
that you can run in regular maps or with KalCorp's Special VURMapList ones.
Stats
Stats are used in VUR for many things.

In VasUltimaRune,
you have the ability to cast magic spells. Being able to cast these
spells will depend upon two things, your INT Stat and MAGIC Skill.
Different spells will become available to you when you raise both of
these. You will first start out with an INT stat of 10 and the spells
you have available to you are; heal, fireball and reactive armor.

Rune Co-op v1.2 | 12/26/01

Rune Co-op Mod v1.2 by Dark and his Rune Co-op Team

This Rune Co-Op Mod v1.2 replaces the previous
Mod and patches. (Please delete the old Mod and patches if you have this installed)

Many new changes have been incorporated into Co-Op 1.2. One of the largest changes is 14 of the maps have been
split into 2 smaller maps as part 1 and part 2. Splitting these maps made a huge difference in network performance, greatly reducing
lag for the server and clients.

The 2nd biggest change is the new addition of the Skeleton Warrior. This new AI is absolutely one of the best additions to the Mod.
The new Skeleton Warrior will appear in the 1st 17 levels.

Updates/Fixes:

* Moving Elevators and lifts fixed, will no longer drop client players through bottom or jitters when walking over or riding them.

* Added new Fire Zombie in hell levels.
*
*Added new Skeleton Warrior on levels Co-Op04 through 17.

* Fixed trigger on level 32 also slowed down spawning rate of goblins attacking.

* Added half way teleporters on just about every level.

* 14 levels split in 2 parts for better Internet multiplayer performance.

* Removed many goblins and crabs from 1st 15 levels and replaced with the new Skeleton warrior.

* Fixed Boss Dwarf can no longer be knocked down by hammer.

* Fixed Boss Crab, he can no longer be flipped over from attacking him.

* The battle part 1& 2 has been changed, 1st part is only a viewable video part 2 is playable. With ships on station when the game
starts, ship moving caused too much lag and made the level hard to play.

* Map 29, fixed Machine room for large gears being destroyed now works correctly.

* Map 33, added doors after Mech boss fight, added 3 pumps linked to the 3 doors.

* Sark levels have thinned down and health increased, also slowed timing on spawn rates.

* Map 28, added door to outer halls area opened by lever now...

* Map 17, added an extra event with Boss Trial Beast.

* Map 14, added door to 1st part of map with hidden pumps to open door.

* Map 14, added secret hidden weapon to level "Broadsword".

* Several maps fixed several lizards on levels fixed now able to be picked up.

* Several maps A.I. thinned down and health increased for better Multiplayer performance.

* Map 22 fixed, Door changed to unbreakable door, now opened by lever.

* Map 15 & 16 stairs fixed, made stairs wider for smoother navigation.

* Map 22 Boss health increased.

* Map 32 thinned down goblins falling from ceiling.

* Sark levels, 40% of Sarks thinned down and health increased for better multiplayer performance.

* On several levels power runes have been fixed that were not showing up in the game.

* Added 14 more halfway teleporters.

* Map 39, added a door at start of level. This door is timed at start of level to open

* Map 14, ending elevator slowed down.

* Map 25, Fight scene with Sigard and Sarks fixed, timing of fight was not correct now looks more accurate.

* Map 27 falling rocks dispatcher was not working correctly for the rumble cliffs, now fixed.

* Map 39, Conrak's health has been increased.

* Map 12 Blade room doors are now set in sequence. Doors will open only after the 1st blade room pump has been pushed.

* Map 36 Fire beast health and fire damage increased.

* Map 41 Teleporter placed in canyon incase of death.

* Map 40 Hole in floor made bigger for easier access when jumping up.

* Map 04 fixed area that could cause player to fall through the floor.

* Map 37 fixed pump to activate after Boss death. In rare instance main doors would close that could cause level to not end.

* Map 14 added hidden levers for door on 1st floor to make better use of the entire level.

EVilDick's 20 Map Coop [Rune 1.07]

This original Coop Campaign by EVilDick (Haltyr) contains 20 maps with three (3) secret maps. It splits the game two
different ways so you can play it twice "without becoming bored". He also optimized the older maps from a pre-release.

On@g@ Rune Co-op (Rune HoV 1.0smiley 5/31/2008

This is an 18 levels with 34 maps original Coop Campaign that On@g@ calls "Valhalla belongs to On@g@". Four levels are split into additional maps to help push the adventure along. Included in the 34 map total are six smiley "secret maps".

The Mod includes two "Readme.txt" in German and English to help with installation and any information. This 115 megabyte Mod download also comes with new music, sounds, four special AI characters and a host of other goodies to add to your Rune Co-op gaming pleasure with your friends.

On@g@ suggests this Mod should be played by two (2) or more players as many levels and/or map tasks require this minimum to get through them. Although some levels can be played in "single player" mode, there are some maps you cannot finish without a partner. There is only one setting...Hard. To make it a challenge for any beginning or any seasoned player. In other words, this mod is very much a "Co-operative" game experience.

ArgonMod v0.91 5/15/2007

ArgonInvasion is a form of "Invasion Gameplay", with waves of monsters attacking the players. So far, it's been tested in DM and AR maps but requires the maps to have special actors to allow monsters to spawn without crashing the game. Several ArgonInvasion (AI) versions of stock maps have been included, as a way of demonstrating how easy it is to modify any map to support this format.

By default, ArgonInvasion is designed to work with a server time limit of 10 minutes and no frag limit. The idea is to defeat the boss and kill all of the monsters before the time limit runs out. The other mutators in the package are configured to support this game format by default. Killing all the monsters ends the game, regardless of how much time is left. There are ini settings and presets to disable this functionality, so you can use ArgonInvasion to supplement standard Deathmatch gameplay with any timelimit or fraglimit you wish. Read the manual for more info.

This mod requires Rune: Halls of Valhalla version 1.08 and the Retail RUNE SP "VoiceOverSound.uax" file. You can download this particular "SP only" sound file from Zisu's Download Redirection Site, Runeiverse.com or KalCorp's VAS RUNE website to run Argon's "Argon Invasion Mod v0.91"

SarkBall: Extreme Sports Mod | 10/5/01

SarkBall by the Brotherhood of Omegus Team is an extreme sports modification for Rune. The mod plays like a
hockey/basketball/lacross game. The object of the game is to out score your opponents by taking the SarkBall and throwing it against
your opponents goal. Sounds simple right? Well it would be if the opposing team wasn't armed with broadswords and other deadly
weapons. There is no high sticking or roughing in this game; it is actually encouraged.

The mod features:

* Customizable team names

* Team balancing with bots

* Desired team size and count

* Pre-game count down

* New round count down after a goal is scored

* Dead ball counter for balls that have fallen out of the playing area or out of the world

Want to take your Rune battles to the skies? You can with this addictive new mod from WHYLabs. Choose
from five aerial maps and four spawnable critters (Beetle, Lizard, Dangler Fish and Bird). You can fly around at speeds varying from
50% of normal, to 220% up to 440% speed using the "super boost." Other features include Controllable Speed, Super Boost,
a new Racing HUD and ACS (Anti Chat Spam) HUD.

Rune Single Player Mods

Although Multiplayer Mods have been more popular, there are a few SP campaigns available for RUNE itself by community modders. EZKeel's 5 level "Nidavellir" and Fragmeat's 7 level "FR" SP maps were among the first large scale levels released in 2001. Since then a few more SP projects have been made and released. They can be found through "Runeiverse.com", "Rune-Library.com" and many RuneClan "Download" sites.

This is much longer, more ambitious SP campaign. You may find this listed in Clan sites under Haltyr's earlier name as "EvilDick" when he first released it as an "Unfinished SP Campaign" for community review. He later finished an Introduction and renamed the SP mod in 2006.

Battle of the Small SP by Jake "Kid Ying" Byrd 3/30/2001

For generations, the toy world has existed in secret from the human world. The king, Ragnarson, has ruled for ages,
with his son Ragnar training to be the next king. The toy world has existed in peace for as long as anyone can remember.
Each year, however, this peace is threatened with the arrival of new and strange toys. This year just happens to be one of those years...

The humans are out at the local Chuck E. Cheese™ after having just celebrated the young one's ninth year, but already things
are going wrong. The newest toy, Conrack, does not seem to be content being confined to a room. He has much larger plans. He
has Ragnar's father abducted and confronts Ragnar with his plans, and this is where your journey begins.

Dwarven Treasure Hunt SP Campaign by Darkwolf (aka "BDC Killzone") 12/18/2006

Is a brand new 8 level Single Player Campaign made and released by Darkwolf (aka "BDC Killzone") As Darkwolf says : "8 levels of fun and ravaging bosses await u. Unzip the files and put them in your map section smiley double click dm-dwarvenTreasureHunt1 and start the fun smiley"

Since it's release, only one bug was found. When you finish Level 4, the teleport will not take you to level 5. So just double click onto Level 5 map to continue. All other teleporters before and after work properly

Although better known as a MP Mapper as "BDC Killzone", Darkwolf was inspired by the efforts of past successes by EZKeel ("Nidviller" SP), Fragmeat (Making of an OdinsBlade), Keebma (GoblinGibz) and Haltyr/EvilDick (unfinished SP campaign) to attempt this. To become one of this small, but elite, list of contributors.

Jetrell's "Thieves Guild SP Mod" Begun 2011

Jetrell and his "Thieves Guild Mod Team" (On@n@, Durus, mute_box, Warlawk and other contributors) have been working on this ambitious, new Single Player Mod for Rune v1.07.

"Thieves Guild is a Singleplayer mod, which was loosely inspired by Thief: The Dark Project, a game that was originally developed by Looking Glass Studios. In order to play this mod you will need to have Rune, which is another great game that was developed by Human Head Studios.

The Story:

The player will take on the role of a thief working for the local thieves guild in a dark and corrupt city during an obscure mystic age. The player will be given a series of dangerous nocturnal missions to complete and if successful you will gain extra items and wealth. But in order to be successful you will need to learn how to creep silently down shadowy alleyways, scale guarded buildings, overcome treacherous traps, pick open locks and all the while you will need to avoid capture from the city guards and night patrols.

Background:

This series was designed as a stealthy thief adventure and not as a hack and slash game. The player should try to employ stealth strategy, and other thieving skills such as, avoidance, hiding in shadows, stealing, climbing and jumping before resorting to unsheathing your dagger.

What's new:

There are new monsters, weapons, magic items, mechanical and non-mechanical devices, scripting, textures, and music. There are also treasure chests with locks and keys, flags that blow in the wind, lots of early Victorian architecture and atmosphere with new special effects like "shadow zones" and "thief sense". In addition there are many other surprises locked away and just waiting to be discovered. This mod is currently comprised of ten individual maps but that number might and probably will increase by the time it’s ready for release. Jetrell will continue to post new updates with more information, screenshots, and videos in the upcoming days and weeks. Be sure to check Jetrell's Thieves Guild Project Topic thread in Rune-World.com's "Editing & User Creations Forum" for the latest updates as well. This mod is slated to be released in Fall 2012
