I think Brenner asked a similar question about trying to find a tutorial in his "how-import-music-file-map" thread in "Editing & User Creations". He is using ".uax" though. Jetrell came in and posted some tips and a link to help him with.
Correct me if i'm wrong but I
Correct me if i'm wrong but I think you can't make a big .uax file, .uax must be small but if you use .umx you can make a big music file.
Not sure.

Good question... I think it's probably a personal preference type of thing but if there is someone out there that knows about this topic I'd very much like to hear their opinion.
I like using .umx files because they are smaller but I'm not really sure if that's completely true. Also, I suspect that not many people playing Rune have enabled their music player so that could be a problem.
Some Unreal engine games used .umx files for music while other games like Rune used .uax files for music.

Brenner, I think what you said is generally true or at least that is what I have found when I've experimented.
With music files you can "loop" a short file so that it seems like a long song. If you want the song to end all you need to do is add a "stop music event" and the song will end wherever and however you want.
hrmmm.... you can also use
hrmmm.... you can also use big files as uax
it makes no difference if you use a uax or umx just of the size and the player that has to be enable... i would make sure to create a file with samples to loop
and another file just with single sounds...
maybe uax has a better quality because of the higher size?
